Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using our services or making a booking with South India Travels.

1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website (www.southindiatravels.com), submitting an enquiry, or engaging our travel services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client," "you") and South India Travels ("Company," "we," "us"), registered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

2 Services Offered

South India Travels provides travel planning, tour package booking, accommodation arrangements, transportation, guided tours, and related travel services within South India and the Andaman Islands. We act as both a principal (for our own curated packages) and as an agent (for third-party supplier bookings including airlines, hotels, and activity operators).

3 Booking & Confirmation

  • All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation from South India Travels.
  • A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a written confirmation email from us and payment of the required deposit.
  • The person making the booking must be at least 18 years of age and accepts these terms on behalf of all travellers in the group.
  • We reserve the right to refuse a booking at our sole discretion without providing a reason.
  • Booking confirmations will be sent within 24 hours of successful payment receipt.
Tip: Always save your confirmation email — it contains your booking reference number which you will need for any future communications with us.

4 Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are subject to change until a booking is confirmed and deposit received.
  • A deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required to confirm a booking.
  • The remaining balance must be paid 30 days before the departure date.
  • For bookings made within 30 days of departure, 100% payment is required at the time of booking.
  • All card payments are subject to a 2% processing fee.
  • Prices do not include personal expenses, tips, travel insurance, or items not specified in the package inclusions.

5 Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to bookings@southindiatravels.com. The following charges apply based on the number of days before your departure date:

More than 60 days Full refund minus 10% admin fee
30 – 60 days 30% of total tour cost forfeited
15 – 29 days 50% of total tour cost forfeited
7 – 14 days 75% of total tour cost forfeited
Less than 7 days 100% forfeited — no refund
No-show 100% forfeited — no refund
Important: Certain suppliers (airlines, specific hotels, houseboat operators in Kerala, island ferry services in Andaman) may have their own stricter cancellation policies. These will be communicated clearly at the time of booking.

6 Changes & Amendments

  • Changes to confirmed bookings are subject to availability and may incur amendment fees.
  • Date changes requested more than 30 days before departure: ₹1,500 per person administration fee plus any supplier charges.
  • We reserve the right to modify itineraries due to operational reasons, safety concerns, weather events, or force majeure. We will provide equivalent or superior alternatives where possible.

7 Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend all travellers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, personal liability, and loss of baggage. This is especially important for activities such as scuba diving in Andaman, trekking in Kerala hill stations, or high-altitude activities.

South India Travels is not liable for any losses, costs, or damages that would have been covered by appropriate travel insurance.

8 Passports, Visas & Documentation

It is the traveller's sole responsibility to ensure they hold valid travel documents, visas, permits (including Restricted Area Permits for Andaman), and any other documentation required for the trip. South India Travels will provide guidance but is not responsible for any loss or additional costs arising from incorrect or missing documentation.

Andaman Note: Foreign nationals require a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) to visit certain Andaman Islands. We will assist with the process, but obtaining valid permits remains the traveller's responsibility.

9 Health & Medical Requirements

Travellers are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit for their chosen tour. Some destinations (houseboat stays in Kerala, scuba diving in Andaman, high-altitude treks) may have specific health requirements. Please consult your physician and inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions at the time of booking.

10 Force Majeure

South India Travels shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, cyclones, floods, pandemic/epidemic, acts of terrorism, war, civil unrest, government restrictions, or acts of God. In such cases, we will endeavour to provide alternative arrangements or partial refunds at our discretion.

11 Limitation of Liability

South India Travels' total liability to any client for any reason shall not exceed the total tour cost paid by that client. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any third-party suppliers (airlines, hotels, houseboat operators, transport providers, or activity operators).

12 Complaints & Dispute Resolution

  • Any complaints during the trip must be reported immediately to your tour guide or our 24/7 support line so we can address them promptly.
  • Written complaints must be submitted within 28 days of return via email to support@southindiatravels.com.
  • We aim to resolve all complaints within 14 business days of receipt.
  • Disputes shall be governed by the laws of India and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

13 Intellectual Property

All content on this website including text, images, logos, itineraries, and design is the intellectual property of South India Travels and may not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without our express written consent.

14 Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We handle all personal data in accordance with applicable Indian data protection laws.

15 Amendments to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
